2008 Horse Event Results
The official 2008 horse event results are available to view online. Congratulations to the winners and thanks go to all the competitors taking part in the events over the weekend. We look forward to seeing you compete again this year.

Thank you!
The 2008 show has been a great success with a record number of visitors. A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make it an event to remember, including those who helped set up the show, run stalls, put on displays, competed in the many events or came along to have fun.

Horse Event Schedule
The 2008 Schedule is now available to view online. We look forward to seeing you at this year's show. Entries should be submitted by 23rd June, using the Entry Form.

Help Wanted!
The success of the Show depends upon the amount of help we can get to set up, run and take down the Show. If you can help then please let us know.

Scarecrow Competition
The scarecrow competition is now in its fourth year and once again there will be a category for "Scarespoons" to encourage more entries from our younger visitors. Based on a wooden spoon, these should be easier to design, create and transport to the Show.

Go Kart Derby
Wondering what to do with the wheels on your old pram or pushchair?
Get together with your Mum and Dad to design and build an entry for the Go-Kart Derby.

2008 Programme Design Winners
Children at St Nicholas CE Primary School were invited to design the cover illustration for the 2007 Horse Show programme. The committee were delighted with the entries and really enjoyed looking at the wonderful pictures. Choosing the winners was more difficult than ever.

The Hurst Horse Show and Country Fayre is a unique annual event held in the centre of Hurst, Berkshire, that runs for two full days in June. Now in its 29th year the 2008 show will take place over the weekend of 28th and 29th June.

It is a true village show that takes its support from all members of the local community and gives back generous support to those deserving causes within the village and the local community. This year the show promises an abundance of fun packed attractions which will appeal to young and old.

Horse Jump There will once again be a full two day schedule of Show Jumping Events including Clear Round jumping, pairs relay, horse & hound, fancy dress and many others. The schedule can be downloaded here.

Adding an authentic rural feel to the show will be the country corner with displays of traditional country crafts including pottery and willow sculptures, and what promises to be one of the highlights of this year's show, a scarecrow and scarespoon competition!

A packed programme of arena events will feature dog displays, tug of war, Terrier racing and a myriad of other attractions whilst the colourful cacophony of side stalls, face painting, bouncy castle, bar and refreshments will ensure that there is wall to wall entertainment for all the family. Last year's show attracted record crowds and the organisers hope this years show will be even more spectacular, so do come along on both days to ensure you don't miss any of the fun!

Terrier Race

Over the years the Horse Show has raised many thousands of pounds, mainly for local charities. St Nicholas Primary School has always been the principal beneficiary receiving around half the proceeds, and it is currently raising money for an ambitious playground refurbishment project. The show is also a stalwart supporter of the local scout and guide movements, the Wokingham Red Diamonds Sports for the disabled, St Nicholas Playgroup, Hurst Village Halls and St Nicholas Church restoration fund. Each year proceeds from the show are distributed amongst these and many other worthy causes.
